How to Remove Set in BBQ Sauce Stains from Carpet & Upholstery in San Juan Capistrano, CA

How to Remove Set in BBQ Sauce Stains from Carpet & Upholstery in San Juan Capistrano, CA

There are many dishes that include BBQ sauce. Spring through summer months will often inspire BBQ saucy foods. With BBQ sauce, many homeowners will inevitably find a spill or smudge on the upholstery or carpet from saturated fingers and drops. The sooner it is cleaned up, the easier it is to remove as like most substances coming into contact with the carpet and upholstery. Tips for removing the BBQ sauce stains and spots from your upholstery and carpets is what we at My Steam Green Carpet Cleaning of Orange County would like to share today.

Clear Off Bulk of Stain

To scoop up the mass and drop it onto the paper towel with a few paper towels and a blunt tool, such as a spoon or spatula. Gently use white paper towels to carefully blot any moisture after you remove the bulk. Until the moisture is removed, continue to blot the stain. You do not need to press further if the paper towel is enough.

Prepare & Apply Carpet Cleaner Solution

Combine 2 teaspoons of dishwashing detergent in 2 cups of warm water if the spot requires further treatment. Starting on the outer rim of the stain and work your way towards the center, dip a clean, white cloth to start treating the sauce. Since scrubbing and rubbing can cause it to spread, only blot. Use dry paper towels or cloth to blot excess moisture to prevent oversaturation in between solution application. You use a fresh corner and rinse the cloth under the faucet when there are no more clean spots ensure once the corner of the cloth is consumed with sauce.

Rinse Spot Treated Area

The area will need to be rinsed clean of residual cleaner once satisfied the BBQ sauce is no more. To gently blot away the soapy residues, use a separate cloth dampened with water. A brown spot is created with any soap left behind will instantly attract dirt and debris. Expedite the drying with fans if possible and use a dry towel to absorb as moisture lingering moisture as possible. After it is completely dry, be sure to vacuum the area well.

Treat Set In BBQ Sauce Stains

A problem is presented when you find the stain later instead of sooner. With the help of an oxygen-based bleach and cool water following package directions and that is safe on upholstery and carpet, you can potentially remove old barbeque stains. Use a clean cloth to treat the exterior of the stain and work towards the center. If necessary, blot in between applications as you never want to oversaturate the area. For about 30 minutes, let your solution soak into the fibers. Rinse well, dry, and vacuum. Contact a professional for treatment if the upholstery is vintage.
